The Commons Law Center

The Commons Law Center is a nonprofit law firm that provides sliding-scale legal services to modest means Oregonians, those who live below 400% of the federal poverty level. Their program serves to bridge the gap in services between those who qualify for legal aid services and those who can comfortably afford a private bar attorney.

WEBSITE

Through their annual pledge with Visible Alliance, The Label Collective volunteered to create the visual identity for The Commons Law Center and extend it into their website, print collateral, and digital collateral.

CHALLENGE

The Commons Law Center wanted to set its firm apart from other accessible legal care options. It acknowledged that its current brand and visual identity “got them by” but knew it had room for improvement. They also needed help establishing a brand and visual system that worked with their multiple target audiences.

SOLUTION

The Label Collective created a”highlight” element as the main visual thread between all target audiences. Using common highlighter colors, each target audience received its own unique color palette. Visual elements on the website and collateral were kept minimal and toned in black and white to allow the highlighted colors to pop.

RESULT

The Commons Law Center now has a crisp, impactful visual identity and guidelines that establish a clear visual system for their team to follow. A refreshed website experience ensures that those who require legal aid can find the help and resources they need. Cohesive print and digital materials now exist and are handed out to potential legal volunteers and advocates.
