"The last few decades have belonged to a certain kind of person with a certain kind of mind—computer programmers who could crank code, lawyers who could craft contracts, MBAs who could crunch numbers. But the keys to the kingdom are changing hands. The future belongs to a very different kind of person with a very different kind of mind—creators and empathizers, pattern recognizers, and meaning makers. These people—artists, inventors, designers, storytellers, caregivers, consolers, big picture thinkers—will now reap society’s richest rewards and share its greatest joys."− Daniel Pink, Author, A Whole New Mind
The Label Collective loves to partner with startups because we wholeheartedly believe the role of design is even more important today to a startup’s success than ever before. More and more startup founders are coming from a design background*, and creative strategy and implementation are playing a larger part in a startup’s credibility and visibility in today’s marketplace. It’s hard to ignore the impact of great visual communication.

Here’s how we provide a competitive edge:
We work with entrepreneurial people (like ourselves).
Our core team is made up of two members who are determined to make a creative startup model work. We also get the help of creative partners that are solopreneurs and their own business owners when the project requires it. When you work with us, you know you are partnering with people who think realistically and can identify with your experiences in running a business/startup.
We keep our rates honest and reasonable.
We’ve created a model that helps keep costs manageable, rates lower, and the details straightforward and fair for everyone. A few ways we do this:
- We hand pick a team based on your project so you’ll have only the right talent working for you.
- Our creative partners determine their own rates, allowing them to feel fairly compensated during each project.
- Together with our partners, we come up with project bids that only include the services you ask for.
- We work remotely and virtually, through coffee shops, co-working spaces, and in our home offices.
This enables us to keep our overhead at a minimum, allowing us to focus on other things, like providing quality creative and collaboration with you.
We can be more agile than the traditional agency model.
Because of our smaller, leaner teams, we’re able to turn on a dime and pivot if the project takes a different turn. If your project scope changes, we can adjust the size of the team. If you need us to pull in additional partners mid-stream, we reach out to them for you. Since our core team takes care of team coordination, you have one point of contact for all requests to deliver what you need, when you need it.
If you’ve made it this far, you already have an advantage.
You’re already thinking about the impact of design on your business… and that’s a good thing. The revenue generated by integrating a creative partnership like ours into the early stages of your business can yield (in some cases) anywhere from a 100% to 1000% return.**
Startups often face challenges when it comes to finding the creative team they would like to work with. Design teams can be overlooked for many different reasons such as smaller budgets, tighter timelines — even the simple fact that large agencies may consider their projects too small and too risky to adopt. Our model is built so these challenges can be met head-on.
